1. About this policy
LiveWorkCancer Ltd (“LiveWorkCancer”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information we collect, hold, use and disclose. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). As an ACNC-registered charity, we also adhere to the governance standards set by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.
This policy explains how we handle personal information and your rights in relation to that information. By using our website, services, or engaging with us, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.
2. What personal information we collect
The types of personal information we may collect include:
- Contact details — name, email address, phone number, postal address.
- Professional details — occupation, employer, industry, and work-related information relevant to our coaching and support services.
- Health-related information — where you choose to share it with us in the course of receiving coaching, peer support, or other services. This is classified as sensitive information under the Privacy Act and is treated with additional care.
- Donation information — name, contact details, donation amount, and payment-related information (processed by our third-party donation platform, GiveNow).
- Event and program registration details — information provided when registering for information sessions, webinars, peer network groups, or workplace training.
- Website usage information — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and other analytics data collected through cookies and similar technologies.
- Communication records — emails, enquiry form submissions, and other correspondence with us.
- Feedback and survey responses — information provided through satisfaction surveys, testimonials, or feedback forms.
3. How we collect personal information
We collect personal information in the following ways:
- Directly from you, when you contact us, register for services, subscribe to communications, make an enquiry, or provide information during coaching or peer support sessions.
- Through our website, via enquiry forms, registration forms, and cookies.
- Through our third-party donation platform, GiveNow (operated by Our Community Foundation Ltd), when you make a donation.
- From publicly available sources, where relevant and lawful.
- From referral partners, such as healthcare providers or employers, where you have provided consent for a referral.
We will not collect personal information unless it is reasonably necessary for, or directly related to, our functions and activities.
4. Sensitive information
Some information we collect may be classified as sensitive information under the Privacy Act, including health-related information about a cancer diagnosis, treatment, or recovery.
We only collect sensitive information where:
- You have provided your explicit consent, or
- The collection is required or authorised by law, or
- The collection is necessary to prevent a serious threat to life, health, or safety.
We treat all health-related information with the highest level of care and confidentiality.
5. How we use personal information
We use your personal information for the purposes for which it was collected, including:
- Providing our services, including coaching, peer support, information sessions, and workplace training.
- Processing donations and issuing tax-deductible receipts.
- Communicating with you about our services, programs, events, and updates.
- Responding to your enquiries and requests.
- Improving our services, website, and communications.
- Reporting to our Board, funders, and regulatory bodies in a de-identified and aggregated form (for example, reporting the number of people supported or geographic reach).
- Meeting our legal and regulatory obligations, including ACNC reporting requirements.
- Sending you information about our work, upcoming events, and opportunities to support us, where you have opted in to receive such communications.
We will not use your personal information for purposes unrelated to the above without your consent, unless required or authorised by law.
6. How we disclose personal information
We may share your personal information with:
- GiveNow (Our Community Foundation Ltd) — our donation processing partner, which processes donations on our behalf. GiveNow’s privacy policy is available at ourcommunity.com.au/privacy.
- Service providers — third parties who assist us with website hosting, email communications, data storage, or IT support, where those providers are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Professional advisors — accountants, auditors, or legal advisors as required.
- Regulatory bodies — where required by law, including the ACNC, the Australian Taxation Office, or other government agencies.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
We do not disclose your health-related or sensitive information to any third party without your explicit consent, unless required by law or necessary to prevent a serious threat to health or safety.
7. Donations and financial information
When you make a donation through GiveNow, your financial and payment information is collected and processed by GiveNow, not by LiveWorkCancer directly. GiveNow uses secure, encrypted payment processing and stores all data within Australia.
We receive your name, contact details, donation amount, and any message you include. We do not receive or store your credit card or bank account details.
All donations of $2 and over are tax-deductible. You will receive an automated receipt from GiveNow at the time of donation, and an end-of-financial-year tax summary is available through GiveNow.

When personal information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
